M95 is a beautiful, face-on barred spiral galaxy that also sports a prominent ring structure. It is located about 33 million light years away in Leo. At magnitude 9.7, it is one of the fainter Messier objects. It contains an estimated 40 billion stars, and spans an area of about 80,000 light years.
This is a tweak of the original image to brighten the galaxy and reduce star bloat.
