NGC 7331 is an unbarred spiral galaxy about 40 million light years away in Pegasus. The smaller galaxies include NGC 7334, 7335, 7336, and 7340. It is not a true galaxy group; the smaller galaxies are much further away, at distances of 332, 365, 348, and 203 million light years. The entire group is known as the Deerlick Group; the smaller galaxies are referred to as the "fleas". Strangely, the central bulge of NGC 7331 rotates in the opposite direction as the spiral arms; the reasons for this are not fully understood.
