NGC 6384 is an intermediate-class barred spiral galaxy, located about 77 million light years away in Ophiuchus. At an estimated 130,000-150,000 light years in size, it is slightly larger than our Milky Way. Although it boasts a relatively bright magnitude of 10.4, most of that brightness is concentrated in the bar and surrounding inner ring. The spiral arms are quite faint; I used a lot of Photoshop tricks to bring them out in this image.

This is a re-process of an image originally taken in 2015, largely to reduce star bloat and brighten the outer spiral arms.
